Board Recruitment

Crazy8s Film Society is actively seeking to fill Executive and Member-At-Large positions for its Board of Directors.

The Crazy8s program kick-starts careers that contribute significantly to our local industry. Crazy8s board members are instrumental in providing support and guidance that will help our registered BC not-for-profit continue fostering and training emerging BC-based, Canadian short filmmakers, to produce professional-quality content.

Gala Screening + Afterparty

Every year, Crazy8s recruits 70+ event volunteers for their Gala Film Screening & Afterparty that is usually held in spring. Get involved in roles such as front of house, event support, box office support, venue setup and ushering, coat check, red carpet wrangling, transport, and more.

Join an exciting event team, make film industry connections, and be a part of one of the Vancouver film community’s largest events of the year.

Program Events + Operations

Every year, the Crazy8s program recruits event and operations volunteers to assist the core team for in-venue and online workshops and sessions throughout the season, including the live pitch sessions, story editing workshop and table reads, production workshops, and more.

The Crazy8s program also recruits volunteers and interns from time to time for its own core team operations, including Communications and Marketing support, Community Partner support, Script Coordination support, Casting support, and more.

Film Production Crew + Cast

Every year, Crazy8s Top 6 Finalist Teams recruit volunteer above- and below-the-line positions.

Watch for our Crew Callout volunteer signup form, or email us with your resume and what role(s) you’re interested in, and (if applicable) which team(s)/project(s) you may be interested to volunteer with.

The Crazy8s Top 6 Films also hold casting auditions. Let your agent know that you’d like to be submitted for consideration. Casting Directors will post the breakdowns on casting platforms such as Casting Workbook and/or Breakdown Services/Actors Access. Please note that Crazy8s film cast are volunteer positions.
