Kay Shioma Metchie

Kay has worked in the film industry for the past six years as a script supervisor where she’s had the pleasure of working alongside and learning from many amazing female directors. She’s worked alongside and learned from many amazing female directors, including Amanda Tapping, Shannon Kohli, and Jem Garrard (Motherland), Nimesha Mukerji (Motherland, The Imperfects), Leslie Hope, and Kristin Lehman (The Order). Kay’s recently begun working as a Supervising Producer on MOWs, where she participated in all the elements that go into prep for a 1M+ production. She’s directed two self-produced shorts and co-directed a music video for a visiting hip-hop artist. She enjoys creating stories that take the ordinary of every day life ad expands it into some extraordinary.

Vivian Davidson-Castro

Vivian is a Vancouver-based producer and actor who constantly seeks ways to combine her passions of activism and filmmaking. She is driven by a broad range of topics like history, arts, culture, social impact and the environment. She has produced over a dozen short films of various genres including factual historical, horror/thriller and drama. She is in pre-production for two TV series, Netwerq and Sueno Canadiense, and a feature documentary Food Synergy about food sustainability and climate change. Vivian’s focus as an advocate is on women’s rights, global democracy and environmental stewardship. She always strives to help enrich the projects she works on with her vast array of expertise in hopes of aligning with audiences around the world.

Valerie Lopez

Valerie is a Peruvian born, Vancouver based independent filmmaker. After leaving film school in Los Angeles, she arrived in Vancouver where she’s worked her way up the camera department and now works as a camera operator in MOWs. She’s a strong advocate for women working in traditionally male dominated jobs in film. She’s looking to develop compelling, inclusive stories that showcase minorities and deep emotions.

Alyssa Kostello

  • Producer

Alyssa Kostello (she/her) is a queer filmmaker based in Vancouver (otherwise known as the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsielwatuth land). Her first short film Zero (Writer/Sustainability Producer) won a Green Seal from the Environmental Media Association, got into festivals such as Vancouver Badass, Sick Chick Flicks and Chilliwack Independant, and is streamable on Sofy.tv and The Green Channel. She has produced a handful of short films and is a co-producer on the indie feature How to Ruin the Holidays starring Colin Mochrie and Amber Nash. She was recently Sustainability Coordinator on the Netflix film Mixtape starring Julie Bowen and will be producing the theatre/film hybrid production of Selfie by Christine Quintana with rice&beans theatre in June 2021.
