Amanda Wandler

Amanda Wandler is a Secwépemc filmmaker and a graduate of UBC’s law program specializing in Aboriginal law and TRU’s BA in psychology and creative writing, bringing a unique perspective to her work. Her T elus Storyhive documentary on Indigenous tattoo revival showcases her commitment to amplifying diverse voices. Currently, she is one of four Indigenous writers selected for the ImagineNative Shorts Lab. Amanda’s work reflects her dedication to crafting thought-provoking stories that resonate with audiences.

Kira Doxtator

Kira Doxtator is an Anishinaabe, Oneida, and Dakota director and producer based on Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waltulth traditional territory (Vancouver). A 2024 graduate of the UBC Cinema Studies undergraduate program, Kira aims to create opportunities, and change the dynamic to find meaningful representation for Indigenous people in the film industry, as well as for women, and other underrepresented creators. Her artistic work centres around Two-Spirit and ‘Indigiqueer’ identities, relationships to land, and Indigenous futurisms. She was the recipient of the 2024 ImagineNATIVE Originals 16mm film Mentorship in partnership with LIFT, with the project currently in post production. She also received the 2023 Indigenous filmmaker bursary from Vancouver Film Studios & Pacific Backlot, to produce and direct her first short film, ‘a poem for my future’, which premiered at NFFTY in Seattle in 2024.

Anthony Poon

Anthony is a Chinese-Canadian filmmaker who has edited a diverse portfolio of work over the last 15 years. He has worked with notable companies such as PlayStation, Telus, Alibaba Pictures, CBC, Thinkific, Netflix, and Monos. Trained at the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television in Screenwriting, Anthony has brought to life ad campaigns and scripted narratives, blending raw, lived experiences with themes of family, identity, and culture. He has also been actively involved in the world of visual effects (VFX), receiving credits on projects including Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Snowpiercer, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Josh Settee

  • Assistant Producer

Joshua Settee comes from Opaskwayak Cree Nation but grew up in Winnipeg. He currently lives in Vancouver. He is an emerging indigenous filmmaker who went to Capilano University.He’s been part of the local film community since 2022 working on a handful of short indie productions such as “a Poem for my Future” by Kira Doxtator. As an inspiring filmmaker he wants to work to uplift his community and showcase indigenous work as much as possible and create stories that everyone can love to watch.
