Andy Alvarez

Born in Cali, Colombia, Andy Alvarez is a director / producer based in Vancouver, BC. She graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production. Her directorial debut based on her personal story is the award winning short film La Mariposa. After more than fourteen world-wide festival screenings, and several awards, La Mariposa was awarded the Leo Award for Best Student Production in June of 2018, and is now streaming on CBC Gem and Air Canada. In the fall of 2018 Andy was selected as one of 10 filmmakers to participate in Vancouver’s International Film Festival’s first Talent Lab program. Andy won the Lindalee Tracey Award at Hot Docs 2019 Film Festival for her latest short film, Our Home. Along with her team and production company; Studio 104 Entertainment, Andy was awarded 20K for a TELUS Storyhive Funded Pilot set to release in the summer of 2020.

Martin Calvo

Martin Calvo is an indie filmmaker based out of Vancouver, BC. After graduating from UBC with a BFA in Film Production and Creative Writing, Martin is a co-founder Studio 104 Entertainment. His main focus within the group is writing material and seeking projects for development. Martin is always looking to collaborate with artists and enhance his craft.

Mike Johnston

Mike Johnston is an award-winning director and producer and co-founder of the independent production company, Studio 104 Entertainment. Mike is an alumni of Crazy8s 2019, as he was one of the producers behind Jerome Yoo’s Idols Never Die. Mike is currently in development on a true crime documentary series entitled, True North Crime: Canada’s Most Baffling Unsolved

Kate McCallum

From Tanzania to New York, Kate McCallum has created films around the world. With a BFA in screenwriting from the University of Victoria, Kate hopes to use her skills as a storyteller to reach the empathetic experience of human connection. She’s the recipient of a scholarship to attend the WFTV Producers Panel in 2019 and is currently producing a feature Documentary with May Street Productions. Kate’s goals are to share powerful stories that inspire viewers to connect to stories they wouldn’t have otherwise experienced outside their local community.
