It’s the Bingo Galaxy Quinvigintennial and rockstar bingo caller Dave Lorrie must overcome vocal nodes, handsy patrons, and his e iciency-obsessed manager if he wants to save his workplace and prove what he knows to be true: that bingo is about more than just gambling. It’s about the people behind the dabbers.
Mariel Calvo (She/Her) is an Argentine-Canadian director, writer, and performer. She received her BAH in Drama from Queen’s University in 2020 and has since worked as a playwright and theatre director in Ontario and B.C. Credits include How to Drink Mate (Paprika Festival), A Fleck Can Be the Soul (Brave New Play Rites), and Say When (Dan Studio Series). Mariel’s work is rooted in collaboration, grounded in the belief that stories come alive when shaped collectively and with humour. She is eager and excited to fully step into the world of film and direct The Last Caller.
As a filmmaker, Miguel da Ponte (He/Him) strives to cope with the pressing existential crises of our time the only way he’s ever known how: with humour. A lifelong writer, Miguel’s distinct voice and trademark wit has led to success across several mediums; his fiction has been published in literary magazine PRISM: International and his poetry in the chapbook Open Mic. The Last Caller marks Miguel’s first venture into producing, and he is excited for the opportunity to hone his skills throughout the Crazy8’s journey.
David Lundmark is an actor, comedian, producer, and recently failed car salesman based right here in sunny Vancouver. A graduate in UBC’s Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting (2021) seen in the recent viral hit “Man in background of generic American pharmaceutical commercial”, David brings a unique combination of a traditional theatre background and undefined improv skills that shine best in physical comedies. This will be Three Mice Production’s first short film, a company in which he founded alongside close friends Mariel Calvo and Miguel da Ponte, and he could not be prouder of how it turned out.
Kris Mish is an award-winning Canadian multi-disciplinary artist and the driving force behind Pink + White Creative. With over a decade of experience and a repertoire of more than 380 credits, Kris has established himself as a prolific creator across film, television, music, and theatre. As a writer, director, and producer, he has delivered a wide array of successful films, series, commercials and music videos, collaborating with industry giants including Netflix, HBO, Warner Bros, AppleTV+, alongside contributions to Canadian broadcasters like CBC and APTN. He has also designed lights & projections for theatres, events and concerts across North America. Kris’s unique perspective is shaped by his extensive background in both independent and studio productions. His work is defined by a seamless blend of narrative storytelling and high-impact visual aesthetics.
