The 24th edition of the Whistler Film Festival + Content Summit (WFF24) ran December 4 – 8, 2024 in stunning Whistler, British Columbia with multiple programs including features, shorts, and the much-loved Mountain Culture slate of films. The Content Summit brought together guests to share and discuss transformative ideas shaping the future of screen entertainment.
This year, we’re excited that three Crazy8s 2024 films are part of WFF24! They include the world premieres of Gone Abroad and Toe Pick, directed by Kevin Ang and Teresa Alfeld respectively; and the Whistler premiere of DTF?, directed by Jess McLeod.
Shoutout to the Whistler premiere of the short film Queen of the Underworld from a key creative team of Crazy8s alumni: Director/Writer Stephanie Izsak (Consumer, Crazy8s 2022), Producers Nic Altobelli (Consumer, Crazy8s 2022), James Mattagne (Cuello, Crazy8s 2021), Eloise Cameron-Smith (Hellmark, Crazy8s 2023) and Moheb Jindran (Gone Abroad, Crazy8s 2024).
Congratulations to DTF? for its Honorable Mention for the Canadian ShorWork Award; and to Queen of the Underworld’s lead actor Morgan Taylor Campbell for receiving the inaugural Northern Star Award (formerly Stars To Watch), presented by UBCP/ACTRA and WFF.
